Stawell Regional Health (SRH) provides a broad range of acute and sub-acute health, community programs and residential aged care services to a population of approximately 12,000 residents across the Northern Grampians Shire. SRH facilities include inpatient ward, operating suite, urgent care centre, community rehabilitation, day stay oncology services as well as a range of community programs.  SRH also operates Macpherson Smith Residential Aged Care facility as well as the Stawell Medical Centre General Practice.

SRH is now seeking a high calibre nursing professional for this important management position.   The Nurse Unit Manager – Residential Aged Care Service, is responsible for the SRH residential aged care and respite services delivered at Macpherson Smith Residential Care Facility. This requires an intra-disciplinary management approach based on an understanding of the quality processes and funding mechanism involved in the provision of residential aged care in order to achieve optimal healthcare and lifestyle outcomes for all residents.   The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for leading and promoting excellence in residential care services through, leadership, teaching, team building, change management, human and financial resource management.

To meet the requirements of the role you will be a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 4 years’ experience and be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and experience in building cohesive highly functioning teams.  You will have sound knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards, industrial instruments and relevant legislation and regulations that apply to residential aged care provision and proven expertise in RAC funding instruments and an ability to maximise ACFI funding through the implementation of work practices that appropriately identity and cater for residents care needs. An understanding and experience of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards is also essential.
